Material and Dimension
WeLab provides a range of dry swabs. The swabs are accompanied by various tips, including materials such as cotton, nylon, and viscose. The stick can be wooden, PP, snappable PS and ABS. The dimensions is Ø 2.2×150mm (6”) and tip approx. Ø5mm.
Application
Each swab has specific functionality and is most suitable for a particular application. The cotton-tipped swabs provided by WeLab are essential in simple patient care and investigations. The cotton material is highly absorbent and safe for use. However, if collecting specimens, consider using a different tipped swab as cotton contains naturally occurring fatty acids, which act as contaminants.
WeLab viscose-tipped dry swabs are perfect for specimen collection, unlike cotton-tipped swabs. The viscose tip is derived from wood pulp and undergoes a strict manufacturing process, eliminating any materials that hinder specimen collection. The viscose material is absorbent and soft, making it the most applicable when collecting study samples.
Nylon-based dry swab tips are the best when it comes to sampling collection due to their fast release mechanism. It is the most applicable to rapid tests, especially in diagnostics, PCR analysis, and microbiology.
WeLab provides all of the above dry swabs for clients, depending on their needs. Each material has its specific benefits, including flexibility when collecting samples from the nose of the throat may require using a plastic handle. It can bend but does not snap. Also, the dry swabs are either sterile or non-sterile, depending on the clients’ order.
