There are two type of glass for Microscope slides in the market now. They are sheet glass and float glass. The biggest difference of appearance between them is the color. Sheet glass is greenish, float glass is white, and Microscope slides made of float glass have higher light transmittance.

Due to the different production processes, the flatness of sheet glass is not as good as float glass. This is also a great advantage of float glass, but this advantage sometimes becomes a disadvantage. To improve the quality, our company prepared to change the glass material for all the slides to float glass. But found the slides made of float glass were were easier to become sticky because of good flatness.

So for ordinary slides, such as plain slides, frosted slides, it is recommended to choose sheet glass, color frosted slides and charged slides choose float glass, because the color frosted end between the slides can prevent the sticky.
