Application and Material of Tip

WeLab transport swabs are most versatile in specimen collection and laboratory applications. The swabs have a cotton tip or a viscose tip or a nylon flocked tip. The cotton tip works with a specimen that requires absorption properties for optimal specimen collection. In contrast, the Viscose tip is essential in specimens that require an optimal sample but low retention rates, ensuring maximum sample transfer,  nylon swab releases the samples immediately after their collection onto the transport or study medium. The diameter of tips is about 5mm, the length approx. 15mm.

Material of Shaft

The transport swabs have different shaft materials. These can range from wooden, polypropylene, and snappable ps shafts. You can select the shaft and tip depending on your specimen collection and transport needs. The diameter of the shaft is about 2.5mm, the length approx. 150mm.

Material of Tube

Each transport swab has an accompanying tube made of polypropylene. The tube has a sound tube and a PE stopper. The stopper fits firmly onto the tube, sealing in the samples collected. The stopper preserves the quality of the sample by preventing contaminants while on route to the lab. WeLab transport tubes can have a blue or red stopper.

Packing

You can purchase the swabs in bulk or individual poly packs. The packages are sterile, maintaining the quality of swabs and readiness for use, and you can buy in bulk contains 2000 sterile swab pieces in a single case.  An individual peel and poly pack have a similar number of sterile swab pieces as the bulk packaging.
